Friday Freedom-Find

A Friday Freedom-Find is a post about something I found in nature during the week which showed me God’s goodness. I want to encourage anyone who reads to keep eyes and ears open to God’s hidden (and not so hidden) messages all around us in nature.

As Christians, staying connected to Christ is essential to providing every vessel in our body with what is needed most, namely light and nourishment. Only in connection are we able to reflect the beauty we have been created to exhibit.

In the Christian community we are indispensable. When we do our part, we point the world to a beautiful message:

God uses faulty and broken vessels to show the World His love.

I am the vine; you are the branches.
Whoever abides in me and I in him,
he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5

The tree knots look like an old man to me, pained by being captured… I almost cried thinking about the ways we often chose bondage over freedom. Thanks for your encouragement, sweet friend. Glad we can connect here!

Heidi, such beautiful words and truths here. And your pictures are just lovely! I love capturing light illuminating things as well. Flower petals, leaves, you know. Anything to bring out the color and His reflection in His creation.

I like to look for glimpses of His beauty when I walk and during other times in my days. Thanks for the reminder that we can reflect the Lord’s beauty in our lives, too. You made me smile.

Thank, dear Jeanne, for stopping in and leaving me with your words of encouragement. Nature is truly a canvas, displaying His art and creativity. Greatful we can share from the things He shows us, friend!

Your photography is always stunning, Heidi. Love how the backlight behind the leaf highlights just how many veins there are in order to provide nutrients to every square millimeter–a very appropriate illustration for John 15:5. Also brings to mind Ephesians 3:19 about being filled with all the fullness of God!

Oh Nancy, I just had my phone and pushed a button. It’s the gentle “interaction” of light with an object which is stunning. Light needs a hinderance to be made known. An object needs light to be seen. Beams of light are most stunning when there is fog, clouds and dust particles. The best display of light is when the obstacle is transparent … Mostly, I set out to look for transparent or reflecting objects… I think, Nancy, it’s much the same way with people 🙂
