What is your complaint, barking crow?
Why greet the morning with contentious noise
As light breaks through,
As morning rehearses again
The ongoing play
Of the Ancient of Days.
Be silent! Let others sing!
Let the happier lead the procession
Of the first rays!
Even brother Jay
Knows itβs better to sing than to bark,
Preens his feathers to match the coming sky.
Are you the only one, clothed in dark?
Have you not heard
The Light is coming?
Prepare!
Let go of your gloomy ways!
Get a glimpse and take a glance
At the beauty of the Day.
Celebrate and dance.
(Reasons are many to wake up with a heavy heart, to let condemnation and guilt get a hold of the mind before the LORD does, before His mercy is made new – again. I am praying for you, my dear reader, to find a place of rest in this loud, barking world. Rest in Christ and His forgiveness! He sees and cares so much more than we all can think or imagine.)
