What Makes us Human?

“What makes us human?” you might ask,
When life can now through AI speak
When answers overcome each task
Machines past sky and heaven reach.

“What makes us human?” Ponder now!
While questions answer your soul’s strife,
For in the inquiry lies the how
Yes! “Human” means to question life.

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:

“Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Dress for action like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
On what were its bases sunk,
    or who laid its cornerstone,
when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

Job 38:1-7

  2. I lost an uncle today. I am reminded again that our limitations are a part of our humanity and our pride like a balloon ready to burst. Job, the most successful man of the year made an example of the ends of humanity by God

  3. How sad that many live shallow lives, seeking recognition, more “stuff,” and the next thrill. And when a person finally asks, “Is this all there is? What is life for anyway? Why are we here?”, where should he go for truth? God. God alone gives meaning and purpose and abundant living to all who come to him! “In the inquiry lies the how.” Amen, Heidi!

  4. Only humanity is capable of redemption. The rapid communication of souless words, cyber robots spewing forth hollow data numbing the conscience of lost and desperate people can only be undone by the Love of God being displayed through the lives of those who love one another.

“They shall know we are His disciples by the love we hold for one another.” Simple and yet the profound wisdom of God to be revealed through broken vessels.

Blessings to you and your family

    1. YES … and Amen, BT. Only by the Holy Spirit and His fire will we see what true love is. In the end, all will see, all will bow the knee. Jesus Christ always has been … is now … and always will be above all things. Let’s love in word and deed, BT.
