Man – The Dwelling Place of God (Sunday Quote)

“From man’s standpoint the most tragic loss suffered in the Fall was the vacating of this inner sanctum by the Spirit of God. At the far-in hidden center of man’s being is a bush fitted to be the dwelling place of the Triune God. There God planned to rest and glow with mortal and spiritual fire. Man by his sin forfeited this indescribable wonderful privilege and must now dwell there alone. For so intimately private is the place that no creature can intrude; no one can enter but Christ; and He will only enter by invitation of faith.”

  1. Praise God His Son Jesus can enter the far-in hidden center within each of us. I cannot imagine dwelling there alone. P.S. Tozer was such a marvel. As I recall, he was primarily self-taught, having attended school only through sixth grade. His intellect, and of course his spiritual insights, far exceeded his formal education! Later in life he received several honorary doctorate degrees.

  4. Dear Heidi, I love everything you share and am blessed by this quote from Tozer. I will have to add that our heavenly Father, in Christ, has provided a sanctity within His own being whereby He reveals Himself and keeps in His care (1 Peter 1:3-5 & Ephesians 2:6). What we have is greater than Adam and Eve had. Blessings for you week. 🙂
