After All

I am so grateful to my best Friend who has stuck it out with me for the past 30 years.

(I wrote this a couple of years ago. The words are still true today!)

  1. I’m assuming that your best friend you’ve written about here, is your husband. We will have been married for 47 years, this year in November. I can really identify with what you wrote here…….so true! Because of my poor health, my husband is now also my caregiver. These are two very difficult roles to live out, but we both realize that it is only with God at the center of our relationship that it will work…… a real need to draw ever closer to Him! I like this poem Heidi, thank you for sharing it. I pray that the Lord continues to bless your marriage and family as He faithfully watches over you.

    1. Celebrating God’s divine goodness with you, dear Heid! 💝

    2. thank you so much for your words of encouragement!!! What a gift to have a husband who takes his vows seriously and blesses you in the ways he does!
Yes, your assumptions are correct … my best friend is indeed my husband! Blessings to you, dear Jaqueline!

  3. The gerunds you chose offer striking imagery for the depths and heights, foolishness and faith-steps of our Christian lives. Praise God he loves us through it all! Beautiful and thought-provoking, Heidi!

    1. thank you, dearest Nancy, for stopping in and reading … and blessing me with your words of encouragement! I am so grateful He has given us marriage to reflect, if only in a tiny part, His loving kindness and patience and love toward us!!!
