Heidi Viars

I gazed up into the early morning sky. In an instant, I became keenly aware of the vastness that stretched above my head. Though stars were no longer visible, I suddenly realized how incredibly deep space extended over me. Though I could not see, I knew that billions of galaxies much larger than our own small Milky Way, had been strewn much farther into space than my finite mind would ever be able to conceive.

From the beginning of time and into time not yet experienced by mankind, our God has been and will be in charge. There is nothing my small, insignificant being can do to thwart those plans. How prideful of me to think that I can mess up my Father’s plans. My short years here on earth have been intentionally planned by my God. For this time He has placed me here. I am not an accident.

God is unshakable. His plans stand. What He says goes. His Word will not fade. His will rotates planets and gives stars their light. His heart is love. He gave His most prized possession for us, a frail and foolish people. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we did not have to perish. Put your trust in Him!

“All flesh is like grass
    and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
    and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.”

And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
1 Peter 1:24-25

Lord, teach me to trust You.
Teach me the Holy.
I surrender my life to You.
Make me into the vessel 
YOU desire me to be.
Help me to make it about YOU, 
not me.
I love You, Lord
