The Maker of Heaven,
Of Earth and the sky
Gives life to His children.
Shows birds how to fly.
~
Tells the oceans and seas
How far they can come.
Turns them back into clouds
Through rays of the sun.
~
His knowledge and wisdom
We cannot obtain.
He sees all injustice.
He sees all the pain.
~
Why trust in your feeble,
Incapable hands,
When He holds your short life
And He has the plan?
~
Be quiet and listen
He calls on our lives.
Let’s trust what His Word says.
Let’s obey His voice.
~
“Father, before the noise of business distracts my attention
from Your constant and holy presence,
calm my heart and draw me near to You.
Show me what You have created me to do.
I know You will equip me
to do the work you have called me to do.
You have not called me to a life of safety,
but to a life of obedience.
Teach me what it means to trust and obey You.”
Job 38-39
… where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? …

Beautiful photos Heidi!!!
Vielen Dank, Tabea 🙂
The title of this post, Trust and Obey, struck a cord with me because I have written on that exact topic. That is an important theme I recognize from reading Scripture.

will have to go and check it out … Thanks so much for sharing it … Blessings!
Thanks! Thanks for trusting and listening. And for your beautiful poems.
Thanks for your visit, Stephen!
Thank you, Heidi, for your artful expression which reminds me of my loving Heavenly Father’s unlimited power, creative genius, and unfailing wisdom. “Trust and obey” is the only sensible response. Lord, help me to remember!
Your comments are such an encouragement to me, Nancy. One can tell how much you love Jesus and His Word … I love to visit your place http://nancyaruegg.com with my cup of coffee and be taught by you 🙂 Thanks for you teaching heart and Spirit-filled writings 🙂
Challenged today by your words that he has not called us “to a life of safety but to a life of obedience”. Thank you!
I think I continue to want to walk back to safety … where I can see and I can control … but how silly is that … He is so much more trustworthy than I … Hope you enjoy the Lord’s day!
Beautiful poem. Trust and Obey, the hymn is one of my favorites. Gorgeous serene images. 🙂
Yes, Rene, I am humming it now! Hope your weekend is restful, dear blogging-friend 🙂
Thank you, Heidi. My weekend so far has been quite busy, but I’m plan to relax on the Lord’s Day. So grateful He provided us with and encourages us to sabbath! [chuckle] Have a wonderful, blessed day! ((hugs))
This was such a blessing, calming my heart before Him today, knowing He has it all planned out and I can walk out in peace and hope! Thank you and praying for His constant encouragement for you!
Thanks so much for stopping by, dearest Deb. Yes, hope … that is a very good word for me today 🙂 I appreciate your prayers, dear friend!
So true that our life is short, Heidi. We might as well spend it as He asks and equips us to. Your poem sums this up so eloquently.
Blessings ~ Wendy
Yes, Wendy, we just don’t really know how short … Thank you so much for your visit and kind comment. You are so very much appreciated!
Heidi, so many Christians want to skip the obedience part but it is crucial to a close walk with God. Thanks. Love the top picture.
He is such a gentle Father … leading us in those paths He prepares for us … in obedience we see more and more of His character revealed … bless you, Sue… and thank you for your obedient heart toward Him!
🙂
Truly beautiful. 🙂
Truly Beautiful God 🙂 Thank you, dearest Skye!
Great post, Heidi! Pastor Robert Morris did a recent message in which he featured Job–and for the first time, I understood that book. I love when that happens, getting good teaching that just lights up God’s Word!! God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo
I love that, too, Caddo … when God is teaching my stubborn heart His truths 🙂 I so appreciate your time reading and commenting!
Lovely post Heidi … top photo really beautiful … just finished reading through the Book of Job (again) … fall into the wisdom of God xxx
