Follow Me

(The best sermons preached are those coming from our own hearts reaching down into our own souls… such was this poem!)

*

You can’t just click to follow Me

You must deny yourself.

You can’t hit “like” to help you see –

But love and live for me.

*

You can’t just surf the web to know,

But search with all your heart.

Can’t click, and then expect to grow –

But trust me, live, and go.

*

Don’t count on what their comments say!

Don’t wait for their reply!

Don’t look at stats and their display!

I give you worth today.

*

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

Father, may the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You today. May I follow You with all my heart and not my own sinful flesh as it chases the approval of man. You are worth all my affection. You are worth all my adoration.

  2. Well said, Heidi! I have been working on a pro-life post for next week ( it will be my third one) and I always struggle with some ‘fear of man’ before I post them… But I am accountable to God first, and He wants me to be true to who He has formed me to be with gentleness and respect ( even if I lose followers).

    1. You do a wonderful job pointing people to the Lord. The Holy Spirit will give you the Words and then the courage to “speak” them…
      blessings to you, Wendy 🙂

  3. Thank you Shelly! I appreciate your encouragement. I am grateful for the Savior’s patience with me while I try to stumble along behind Him. So glad He does not tire picking me up when I fall! … Loved reading at your blog and look forward to more of it! Blessings to you on your journey 🙂

  4. Absolutely love this! In our world of instant gratification, we want everything to be easy and instantaneous. Following Jesus requires sacrifice and a choice to follow HIs will and His plans for our lives rather than our own. Thanks for sharing the powerful words. Blessings!
