There in the sky I saw a sparrow, quite small
Chased a blackbird away, as if in a squall.
Then not too much later coming down with a blow
The blackbird was pecking the head of a crow
I am telling the truth, then the crow slammed a hawk
Charged that fowl – who flew away and squawked.
Now all this commotion made me ask, “Who’s the best
Of the birds in the air – of all the creatures in nests?”
I think it’s quite clear that the sparrows take all
For they’re never attacked, and God sees when they fall.
“God make me content in this world – in my place
To consider the sparrow and to trust in your grace.”

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:26
Note: A minute spent in nature to observe and to contemplate the Creator’s sovereign rule, is worth as much as many well thought-through sermons.
