Not many want know
The truth behind our tears
Not everyone can see
What only few can hear
Ties don’t hold in places
Through fibers made of glass
While reading books of faces
And seeking greener grass
The painful Truth is this:
We’re all a cause for tears –
Our deeds and those we miss –
While conqu’ring doubts and fears
But as it’s been forever
And forever it will be
Our souls must seek together
Through honesty that bleeds
Confession – opens wounds
Forgiveness – makes us stay
Surrender – let’s Christ move
Cause Truth still bleeds today

(Note: This poem has been inspired by Luke Bower’s music, and namely the song above. Sometimes, especially when we go through hard times, the soul just needs silence and alone time. But, when we resurface from the deep places, it’s good to have a song to help tuck the heart back into the light. Luke Bower’s songs were among the first to enter my soul and heart after a time of silence. I thought, I’d share.
Also, our greatest encouragement comes from our Christ-centered relationships, with people who help us see, those who know us well. It takes time and vulnerability to establish deep and meaningful relationships (koinonia) in Christian communities. Stepping out in faith to find them is well worth it.)
