Early one morning – the sun was still weak,
I stepped through an old rusted gate.
Walked into my garden and took peek
What I saw, I know, was my fate.

Overcome by a wonder I’d never seen
As if traveled the universe vast
I looked and there from a vine shone a beam,
Drew me in to the way of the past.

The myst’ry of time and eternity’s power
Was caught in a frail purple cup.
The glory of God in a morning flower –
This wonder made me tilt my head up.

The wisdom it took, that made what I saw,
Was the Breath who breathed stars up above.
The LORD – Elohim – deserving of awe
Three in One, Who created in Love.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:1-5

    • What a fate we would have to endure, were He not with us … in everything and everywhere! I often lack the courage to look … but He is good and keeps drawing me in πŸ™‚ … Sending much love and hugs your way, dear Debbie!

  1. Superbly lovely, Heidi. That must have been a breath-taking moment to peer inside a flower and see glowing light in the center of a star! God never ceases to amaze me–old as I am–with the new wonders He continually reveals. “How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders” (Daniel 4:3a)! (P.S. Good thing I don’t have to choose my favorite photo here. Both are stunning and awe-inspiring, my friend!)

    • It was indeed a beautiful moment, Nancy… I got caught there in that awe like a child … not even realizing how time was passing … When I looked through my lens, I felt as if I had seen creation at its beginning … I think in a way I had. Thank you, friend for stopping in… I will come by later … I have some catching up to do with you … at your blog that is πŸ™‚ Hugs!

  2. Oh so beautiful, Heidi. Truly, words from God, the Holy Spirit. Thank you so much for sharing from your heart to mine (and others, of course). Isn’t it amazing that no matter how long we’ve been serving Him, He has the ability to cause us to see Him like it was for the first time, with that Spirit of wonder!

    • Thank you so much for reading and encouraging me with your words. He is so beautiful, isn’t He. I think kids have this figured out better than we have. It was a good reminder to slow down and let Him show me that He has everything in control! Sending hugs your way, dear friend!
