Early one morning – the sun was still weak,
I stepped through an old rusted gate.
Walked into my garden and took peek
What I saw, I know, was my fate.
Overcome by a wonder I’d never seen
As if traveled the universe vast
I looked and there from a vine shone a beam,
Drew me in to the way of the past.
The myst’ry of time and eternity’s power
Was caught in a frail purple cup.
The glory of God in a morning flower –
This wonder made me tilt my head up.
The wisdom it took, that made what I saw,
Was the Breath who breathed stars up above.
The LORD – Elohim – deserving of awe
Three in One, Who created in Love.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
