Returning to Joy

3 March, 2013, sunrise,, green lake, trees, 007

I am forever grateful to my God who saved me from the darkness and brought light into my life through Christ! Today, I am grateful that even when things seem dark, I can know that He is the Light of my Life and His Word a Lamp to my feet.

Have you tasted? Have you seen,
What God prepared with joy?
Or have you found your fill on earth
In things that will destroy?

So much of what you feast upon,
And what you eat with ease,
Does not compare with Jesus’ food,
His love, His joy, His peace.

He is the Water for your thirst,
The Bread that satisfies.
He is enough for all your needs,
And hears your faintest cries.

“Father, show us the way out of darkness. Let the depression lift from our hearts. Let us go out and light the world with your Truth and not be rendered useless by the enemy while believing His schemes and deceptions. Lord, return to us the joy of our salvation.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
Psalms 5:11-12

    1. I appreciate that and thank you from my heart! God bless you, Debbie

  2. that is my prayer, dear Melody, that He will be able to make use of it … I am learning to give it Him access to the story … mind boggling that He would use us to do anything for Him… when he really doesn’t need us … What an amazing God and a loving Father He is! … Yes, I love that idea, Melody 🙂

  3. There is nothing like coming out of darkness into the light to give you an appreciation for that light! Your story and your darkness will be used to reach others, Heidi – don’t you love that?

  4. Amen! Light, joy, truth, love, peace, favor…hmm, definitely not what I’ve been focused on. Time to close my eyes and then open them and look again at these things for they are all in Him 🙂 Thank you!

    1. Thank you, Ann … focusing on Him can be challenging at times but how kind of God to put people around us to encourage us on the way there… and then, when we are there… be those encourager ourselves 🙂 Blessings to you!

His Light is peaking out from your hurting heart and expressing Himself. I’m praying.

    1. What a wonderful God who will use all of it … the pain and sadness as well as the joy and contentment we experience. I pray we know Him in either place. Love you!
