The deceitfulness of the human heart is far greater and deeper than we can comprehend, but the love of God is deeper still.
Each day we should set out on the task to understand both better than we did the day before.

Lord,
humble me and show me my own deceitful heart.
Make plain the lies which have entangled me.
Help me to see that Jesus is the only cure for my desperate state.
Help me to grow in You and the knowledge of Your love.
And in that growing, Father, uproot the lies which have grabbed a hold on my heart and let them die.
Teach me to live in the freedom of Christ’s love and sacrifice.
