Come!
Behold the Light, this dance of fire
In your soul.
Be quick!
Don’t weigh your worth,
Don’t contemplate too long,
You, who are soon no more.
You are a vessel of the Almighty Flame.
Trust that He, the Consuming Fire,
Will make your message more powerful
Than that of Angels in all their glory.
You, willing heart,
Be His image!
Shine in the darkness as He does!
Come, say yes to the One
Who burns you away.
Surrender to the Him
Who has not come to take your life,
little by little,
Until death arrives,
But to HIM
Who makes you die a thousand deaths
Until only life remains.
He who set the fire will carry you safely.
Be a willing wick and
Receive Him.
Dare Him to melt you with love,
Empty you, like an open tomb.
Only take with you,
Wherever you go,
The Light and Life of God —
And leave behind what belongs to earth.

“For our God is a Consuming Fire”
When Christ enters our hearts and when we recognize our need to be forgiven, when we see Him as our only hope on earth and the only way to Heaven, He is able to use and transform anything in our lives for His glory and our good. To those who are perishing, His fire is something to be feared. For those who are in Jesus, this fire is to be desired.
