Like aged leaves, which fall to the ground
memories fall onto the soil or our hearts
and feed our lives.
Those memories once were moments, some painful, some sweet.
We can allow our memories to either nourish or poison our soil.
A forgiving heart, which both can humbly receive forgiveness and graciously pour it out,
is the fertile ground for joyous memories.
Forgiveness tills the fallow ground of our heart.
It allows God to work deep within our soul,
where He can turn painful memories into fruit for Him.

“Precious Father,
Help me today to forgive those who offend me.
Help me to know full well that I am a sinner, offending You continually.
Thank You for giving me Your Son,
and His forgiveness for every sin I have committed against You.
Help me to forgive others with the same measure with which You forgive me.
Today, open my eyes to the moments,
which have the potential for nourishing memories.”
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Let me know what you think
