Luring us In

deer, spring morning, birds 014

I cheated. I admit. My smart-phone was a big help in luring them in. A quick internet search and after a few clicks, my phone was singing and calling the field sparrows I was hearing. After only a few minutes they were dancing on the path, wondering how this strange creature was speaking their language.

It reminded me of my God.

He, in His ultimate wisdom, knew how to call us toward Himself. He spoke the language of our hearts and satisfied our deepest longing for a relationship with Him. He made Himself like us, so we could understand His love for us.

“Thank You, Father,
for luring us with Your love and kindness!
You left Your place in Heaven and made a way for us to be with You,
forever. deer, spring morning, birds 026

So the Word became human and made his home among us.
He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.
And we have seen his glory,
the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
John 1:14 (New Living Translation)

About Heidi Viars

“If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth ...” ― C.S. Lewis ..... In my pursuit of self, I found utter darkness. In my pursuit of truth, I found Jesus, who dispelled the darkness by His forgiveness. Now I follow Him and try to understand Him better. I am a wife, mother of 6, blogger and love taking photographs of sunrises.

I love that He ‘speaks’ to us in ways that we hear and understand!

Me too, Rene. Though I struggle sometimes with the discernment in this area. I don’t want to walk the path of Pantheism, and want to be so alert to the Truth, not read into it and be careful that I truly “hear” Him. Let’s pray we know His Word, our ultimate Guide! Blessings, dear sister!

  3. Dear Heidi, What a lovely thought that God lures us toward Himself because He loves us so much. It’s such a staggering thought isn’t it? Well I’ll gladly come running any day as I assume you would. Thank you for such a beautiful picture. Sincerely Jacquie.
