The six nouns you chose in lines 2-4 invite deep introspection. For example, have I surrendered my progress to God, allowing him to grow me as he sees fit? I would prefer speedy sanctification! He seems to prefer slow and steady. Why is that?

Thank you, Heidi, for such rich food-for-thought, beautifully written, and the stunning photography.

How about some microwaveable sanctification, or a drive-through surrender, hmmmm… I think that’s why God said “WALK by faith” vs. running by faith. Thank you for your comment. Your input means a lot to me, Nancy! I love your deep insights devoted heart for God πŸ™‚

Yes, yes, yes! Amen and amen, my beautiful beloved sister! Your poignant, heartfelt poem/prayer is also mine as well, and it should be the cry of every believer…

Father, help us (me) to trust in YOU with ALL my heart and to lean not on my own understanding. Then, in all my ways, I will acknowledge YOU, while YOU direct my path in Jesus’ name!

Heidi, thanks so much for sharing your heart in this poem.

    Love always,
    Your sister Cheryl

Thank you, Patti, for your words of encouragement. I do feel like we live in Narnia at times. While I don’t mind snow, I am looking forward to “Aslan’s” return πŸ™‚

We have such a beautiful God, showing us His tremendously creative powers all around us -no matter where He placed us and no matter where we live πŸ™‚

Yes, “where He has placed us” … I must remember that He is in control of all areas of our lives … I live in the tropics; but deep down my heart longs for my birthplace. Completely opposite. As I ponder upon this I realize that I am a new creation in Christ Jesus and my new birthplace doesn’t have boundaries, doesn’t have memories that evoke tears or lost dreams. Yes, I will always miss England; but like a piece on a chessboard I have been moved and I praise God that He has His hand upon my life and knows the best move for me …

When I read your comment I was reminded of Acts 17:26-28. It says,
“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. β€˜For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, β€˜We are his offspring.’”

          Sending you hugs, dear friend!

Yes, the scenery is beautiful (while the roads are pretty treacherous at the moment). I just told God how grateful I am for living here πŸ™‚ Thanks for your encouragement, brother!

You’re welcome. I love your poetry and stories. Very encouraging to me also.

I’m very grateful about the beautiful landscape too. I’m pretty much getting the same kind of scenery on this side of the state, very beautiful and not so good to drive in right now! But my fireplace is very nice and it’s great to look at from inside when the weather’s bad. Actually, I love snow days when you can do nothing but enjoy the winter wonderland. πŸ™‚ In February I hope to take some pics of the bald eagles on the Mississippi River during their mating time. There will be 15-20 of them in one tree, swooping down to the water, fighting over potential mates! And this is right in our town park on the river. Just awesome with the wintery backdrop. Who needs the Discovery Channel! πŸ™‚ Blessings. Stay safe and warm.

The words in that prayer came from a word study on “walk” and “faith”. What God says in so few words in 2 Corinthians 5:7 has a lot to say to us!
We have lots of snow and ice here. I really don’t mind it. I think it’s gorgeous, too. (Well, until about April, then I usually change my mind) πŸ™‚ Hugs
