Remember

In my business making memories,
I have become too occupied to remember.
If I never take time to reflect on those memories,
that business is worthless.
~~~
“Lord, I admit that I often
run around trying to make all these memories,
when in fact I never stop and remember
why I do what I do.
You ask me to do all things for Your glory, not mine!
Forgive me when I seek my own glory in this season.
Help me remember today,
in the midst of my business and preparations,
that it is all about Your Son Jesus –
who did indeed all that needed to be done.” inside-outside 003I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
Psalm
143:5
    You’ve got me thinking, Heidi, as you always do! I can turn the preoccupations of the season into praise. Memories to make? Praise God for the family and friends who make them meaningful. Cards to write? Praise God for the opportunity to pray over folks while addressing their envelopes. Presents to wrap? Praise God for the joy of gift-giving, for the delicious anticipation of Christmas morning, as well as the actual day itself.
    I’m going to start my Christmas praise today! Thank you, Heidi!
      oohhh… Yes!!! When I read your comment I thought of Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” I thought especially about “FOR HIM” … looking forward to reading your posts!
      Thank you, Sue. These are the very last pictures my camera took before it gave up its ghost (or better before the LCD went white) … I loved that camera 😦 … God reminded me to give Him thanks for all the pictures I was able to take with it 🙂 Wishing you and yours a reflective Christmas season, dear friend.
    This is wonderful as usual, Heidi. I think one of the greatest disappointments in life, is the “let down” that comes when we’ve been so busy being busy that we don’t know up from down, or scarcely who we are, let alone why we were doing things in a such a frenzy. We over-invest in activity sometimes, and then wonder why it didn’t bear the fruit WE wanted/needed. I’m glad for your reminder today–about WHO we do all things for. People don’t always give us the strokes we need–but if we’re in tune with His Spirit, God says, “Well Done, Child!” Have a blessed day–much love, sis Caddo
      I agree with you, Caddo! I think we often find our worth in what we do, when truly our worth is found in the Lord, and what He did for us. Yes, I so often look to people to give me the affirmation … I am grateful to the Lord for continuing to show me such mercy and kindness 🙂 Much love to you, dear sister!!!
