In Your Presence

Stillness

Comfort

Peace

In Your Presence

Wisdom

Knowledge

Discernment

In Your Presence

Contentment

Fulfillment

Gratefulness

In Your Presence

Detail

Intricacy

Intimacy

In Your Presence

Longing stirred

Purpose defined

Desires fulfilled

Father, my sick self cannot demand Your presence.
I am incapable of understanding
the vastness of my offenses toward You, a Holy God.
The distance between You and me can appear
as great as the span of the infinite universe.
Yet, through Your provision of Jesus Christ,
my repentance, and recognition of my need,
this immense span shrinks to the mere distance
that exists between my heart and mind.
Father, help me to see, that while I am in Christ,
You are with me.
Father, bless me with the knowledge of Your presence.
Help me walk into this day, with confidence and hope,
and love You and others.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

Heidi, as I began to read your poem, I could feel God’s presence enclosing around me; I breathed in the sweet fragrance of his peace. Thank you for that precious gift through your words! With you, I want to live each day in strong confidence of his provision, in happy hope of heaven, and in generous love to him and others. Thank you for inspiring my heart –again!

Like Ben- one of my favorite places are those you have photographed so artfully- and THE most satisfying place is in His Presence- through Christ always available…and for some reason not chosen often enough.

  What’s nice about blogging, that you only get to see a certain side of me … I think, if you ask my children about my heart, things might get a little hairy … I love what the Word says about God giving us the desires of our hearts ….

Thanks Heidi. We get so much by being quiet before Him and trying to realize His presence. It seems for me that the longer I am in prayer in His presence the more I get from Him. It reminds me of something I read about Marten Luther. He said he had so much to do that day that he decided to spend an extra hour in prayer (something like that).

  God truly owns all of our time and since “He Himself gives mankind life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:25), I think it’s only wise to ask Him, in prayer, how to spent it. … Thanks so much, Stephen, for your kind comment and encouragement!

Amen Heidi – there is nothing like being in His presence, is there? I don’t understand why He would choose one such as me, but I am eternally grateful for His mercy and grace towards me. Thank you for sharing and blessing me with your beautiful insights this morning!
