Like a Sponge

single drop on a budding tree

Lord, squeeze me like a sponge today,

Let tears like water flow.

For while I’m in your hand, you said,

You’d  never let me go.

~

You tightly hold me in Your grip.

You wring my past sins out.

And from Your hand my old self drips-

Along with fears and doubt.

~

Your loosened grasp now lets me draw

From fresh and living springs.

I stand in love and hope and awe

In praise my new heart sings.

~

“Father, help us through season of refinement. Teach us to see You and trust ourselves into Your capable hands. Teach us walk closely and let You do the work required in our hearts to become fully Yours.”

~

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

    1. I think that’s a request He will grant … letting Him squeeze the old self out … at times painful… but, like you said, well worth it! Blessings

    1. Thanks Deb … Isn’t He amazing? I am in awe of Him and how He continues to work in us, if we let Him. Nothing we give Him is ever wasted … He remakes all we offer Him into something new.
