Completely Loved and Fully Known

Just recently I had to stop in the store. Before walking in, I sensed the Lord telling me to “see people with His eyes”. I prayed and asked Him to help me with this and went into the store. As I gathered the things I needed, I was trying to figure out what He wanted me to do.

As I came to register, I stood behind a couple. The husband was in a wheel chair and the wife lovingly pushed him and displayed such kindness. Then, when they left, the employee at the register started talking to me how the man had reminded her of her mother who had been in a wheelchair in her last days. The woman told me how her mother had just past away a week ago.

As she looked at me she said, “I don’t know why, but when I look at you, it makes me cry”. I knew it was the moment God had talked to me about. I asked her about her mom and told her I would pray for her that day. She told me didn’t have praying people in her life.

Though it only was a very small conversation, I felt God’s calling in the smallness of it. It was such a lesson in obeying, in the small things, and touching people with His love… one at a time…

*

What makes me different from the man,

Who stands and begs with empty eyes?

What makes me different from the child,

Who every night in pillows cries?

*

What makes me different from the old,

Who’re lonely – long to just go home?

What makes me different from the girl,

Who raises kids all on her own?

*

I am no different in my heart,

Down deep within my mind and soul

A longing ache needs to be filled

To be completely loved and known.

*

Fully known – each sin within.

Completely loved – despite my past.

Christ came, and died, and rose for all,

Who trust His knowing love that lasts.

*

We all long for our Maker’s love

We ache for glimpses that He’s there.

In His image, we are made.

To know, to see, and love and care.

*

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

(Matthew 22:36-40)
